A portion of today's main campus comprises the Agricultural and Technical College of North Carolina Historic District, which was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. This 10.1-acre (4.1 ha) area along the university's western boundary, consists of five Colonial Revival and Classical Revival style buildings that are the university's oldest standing structures.
With the growth of the university's student body, N.C. A&T has expanded its facilities, most notably through the construction of the Student Center, a 150,000-square-foot complex that houses student organizations, dining facilities, gaming areas, a ballroom and more.
