Deese, former president of global manufacturing for Merck. The Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T is named in his honor. Prominent restaurant industry executives John H. and Kathy H. Hairston are the namesakes of A&T's Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences.
