2025 U.S. News & World Report college rankings, the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire was ranked 20th out of 165 regional master's universities in the Midwest. The University Honors Program's goal is to create opportunities that will help students develop intellectually, personally, and professionally. First-semester students are invited into the program based on ACT scores, SAT scores, and their academic standing in high school, and if students do not meet the requirements for an automatic invitation, they can request to be accepted through a holistic review process.
