the former State Normal School system. Nelson Hall, as of 2020 has been the home of the Closet and the Backpack for students to access free clothing, cookware and school supplies. Norman Hall is named for George B. Nelson who, at the time, was a regent of the State Normal School System. Norman fought with legislators who were opposed to spending the $100,000 to build the hall.
