USU has 16 formal varsity sports teams recognized through Aggie Athletics. They are known as the Utah State Aggies and are a part of the NCAA Division I Mountain West Conference (MWC), which they joined in the summer of 2013. The university's varsity teams have won 37 conference championships including three national championships (i.e., once in Women's Volleyball and twice in Softball).
