Pickens Professorship of Business and in 2010, he endowed the Pickens Professorship of Management. In 2017, the business school was named the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in recognition of the largest gift ($80 million) received by the university in its history.
In late 2005, Long retired from his position as the school's president, and J. Patrick O'Brien took that office in early 2006.
During the tenure of President O'Brien, WTAMU saw a surge of construction projects completed, including the Sybil B.
