built as a townhouse by Philip Albright Small in 1839 and has been occupied by several tenants prior to it being acquired by York College. Its most famous tenant was the Lafayette Club, an exclusive social club that was originally founded in 1898 and occupied the building that is now the CCE from 1912 until the club closed down in 2012. In 2015 the previous owner of the building anonymously gifted it to York College who then proceeded to renovate the building so that it could open as the CCE. The building now hosts the offices for the Center for Community Engagement Division and the Arthur J. Glatfelter Institute for Public Policy, it also has additional space that can be used for classes, community meetings, and private events.
York College also owns Marketview Arts, an arts building located on Philadelphia Street, across the street from Central Market. Marketview Arts houses studio space for York College arts students as well as two gallery spaces that can be used for exhibits held at Marketview.
