In addition to its study abroad programs, ENC also provides missions opportunities through a program known as "Fusion". Locally, environmental management students have been involved in community cleanup programs and archaeological investigations around Quincy.

Intercollegiate athletics at ENC first began in 1959 with wins over Gordon, Curry, and Barrington Colleges in baseball. Varsity sports were National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), and New England Collegiate Conference (NECC).
