Nicknamed the Panthers for their mascot, Hanover College teams participate as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III, and as a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC). Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis and track & field; while women's sports include basketball, cheerleading, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field, and volleyball. Hanover added men's and women's swimming in the fall of 2018.
