Missouri S&T's chapter of Engineers Without Borders has four ongoing international projects in Guatemala, Ecuador, and Bolivia. Over one hundred students are part of a team that works to develop sustainable solutions to engineering problems, such as lack of access to drinking water, in developing countries.
Each year the Formula Electric team designs, builds, and races an electric formula-style race car. The team was founded in 2012 and started to compete in 2015. In 2017, the team finished overall 4th, the best they have ever done. For the 2017–2018 season, the team lost its title sponsor.
