The men's DePaul hockey club has played in the Northern Collegiate Hockey League of the ACHA since 2017. The team has one conference championship from 2023 where they defeated Concordia University Wisconsin.

On June 24, 2025 it was announced that DePaul University would be the primary sponsor of professional stock car racing driver Michael McDowell and his No. 71 Chevrolet ZL1 at the 2025 Grant Park 165 on July 6. This partnership with Spire Motorsports will include a custom-design for the Chevy ZL1, a fire suit, pit road signage, and crew shirts.
