The Hoya Battalion, the school's Army ROTC program, was ranked as the best in the country in 2012 for preparing cadets for military service, and its graduates, such as former Chief of Staff of the United States Army George W. Casey Jr., have gone on to serve at every rank, including four-star general. Georgetown alumni include at least 23 officers promoted to general or flag rank across the joint service, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen.
