Alumni in the arts include Academy Award-winning screenwriter and novelist William Peter Blatty, whose novel The Exorcist and its film adaptation are set on the Georgetown campus, where the film was shot on location. Filmmaker Bradley Cooper has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards as a producer, writer, and actor. Screenwriter Jonathan Nolan is known for the films Interstellar and The Dark Knight, as well as the Academy Award-nominated Memento.
