The University of Chicago (UChicago, Chicago, UChi, or U of C) is a private research university in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Its main campus is in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
The university is composed of an undergraduate college and four graduate research divisions: Arts & Humanities Division, Biological Sciences Division, Physical Sciences Division, and Social Sciences Division, which include various organized departments and institutes. In addition, the university operates eight professional schools in the fields of business, social work, divinity, continuing studies, public policy, law, medicine, and molecular engineering. The university maintains satellite campuses and centers in London, Hong Kong, Paris, Beijing, Delhi, Luxor, and downtown Chicago.
